Ministry Purpose
Our hometeams exist to help the people of 24 church grow in their relationships with each other (fellowship) and with God (discipleship). All three of these service positions help hometeams to fulfill the purposes of fellowship and discipleship in one way or another.
Hometeam Leader Description
- A mature / maturing Christian. (Has been a Christian for at least
2yrs or so)
- A person who is setting an example by continually seeking Jesus.
- A person who has completed a informal in-person or over-the-
phone interview with a staff member and filled out a written
testimony.
- A facilitator of a weekly small group of 10-12 people.
- Committed.
- The person(s) who helps keep the group on track each week so that
time is focused on three specific activities 1) fellowship 2) Bible
study / discussion 3) prayer
- Not...the person who teaches every week (facilitating - not teaching
is split amongst group members so that everyone in the group takes
turn leading the discussion.)
- A member of 24 church and a regular attender of 24 church. Not
just at church, but attending worship services regularly.
- The point person between staff (Ben) or a HomeTeam Couch.
- A person who attends at least 2 HomeTeam leader training sessions
a year.
- A person who supports the 24 church staff and its decisions.
- Not a gossip.
Coach Description
- Encourages and prays for a group of homteam leaders.
- Calls 4 assigned hometeam leaders once a month to check on the
leader and see how he/she/they are doing.
- Meets with all 4 assigned hometeam leaders at least 3 times a year
for a fellowship activity / hangout to have fun and pray together.
- Stays in contact with the Discipleship Pastor about the status of
hometeam leaders.
- Familiar with Hometeams.
