Lots of New Resources at Church
I wanted to take a second to highlight some of the new books we’ve recently added to our resource area in the lobby at church. We try to keep a handful of helpful books on a variety of topics in stock to help you in your walk with God. Here are six new books we just added covering three different topics.
Topic: The Trinity
Delighting in the Trinity
by Michael Reeves
Delighting in the Trinity by Michael Reeves is a classic introduction to the heart of the Christian faith―our triune God. Drawing from centuries of church history up to the present, Reeves explores how the doctrine of the Trinity isn't just a theological concept but the foundation of our intimate relationship with God.
Written with wit, clarity, and warmth, this engaging book unpacks how understanding the Trinity shapes every aspect of Christian life, from salvation to prayer to the church and every aspect of our faith. With profound truths presented in a relatable, accessible way, Delighting in the Trinity invites Christians into deeper joy, richer worship, and a closer walk with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Trinity: An Introduction
by: Scott R. Swain
The Trinity is one of the most essential doctrines of the Christian faith, as it reveals a magnificent truth about God—that he is one God eternally existing as three distinct persons. While Christians often struggle to find the right words to describe the union of Father, Son, and Spirit, the Bible gives clarity concerning the triune God’s activity in nature (creation), grace (redemption), and glory (reward). In the second installment of the Short Studies in Systematic Theology series, theologian Scott Swain examines the Trinity, presenting its biblical foundations, systematic–theological structure, and practical relevance for the church today.
Topic: Questioning Your Faith / Apologetics
Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion
by: Rebecca McLaughlin
Although many people suggest that Christianity is declining, research indicates that it continues to be the world’s most popular worldview. But even so, the Christian faith includes many controversial beliefs that non-Christians find hard to accept. This book explores 12 issues that might cause someone to dismiss orthodox Christianity—issues such as the existence of suffering, the Bible’s teaching on gender and sexuality, the reality of heaven and hell, the authority of the Bible, and more. Showing how the best research from sociology, science, and psychology doesn't disagree with but actually aligns with claims found in the Bible, these chapters help skeptics understand why these issues are signposts, rather than roadblocks, to faith in Christ.
Why God Makes Sense in a World That Doesn’t: The Beauty of Christian Theism
by: Gavin Ortlund
This winsome apologetics book for a new generation makes the case that Christianity offers a compelling explanatory framework for making sense of our world. Pastor and writer Gavin Ortlund believes it is essential to appeal not only to the mind but also to the heart and the imagination as we articulate the beauty of the gospel.
Why God Makes Sense in a World That Doesn't reimagines four classical theistic arguments--cosmological, teleological, moral, and Christological--making a cumulative case for God as the best framework for understanding the storied nature of reality. The book suggests that Christian theism can explain such things as the elegance of math, the beauty of music, and the value of love. It is suitable for use in classes yet accessibly written, making it a perfect resource for churches and small groups.
Topic: Basic Theology / Beliefs

Each month is categorized into broad themes, starting with the study of God and concluding with the end times. Written by bestselling author and associate professor of systematic theology Kevin DeYoung, each concise daily reading contains verses for meditation and application, building upon each other and easing readers into the study of systematic theology.
