Sent on Mission
Jesus gave His followers a mission. He told them “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:18-20), and “As the Father sent Me, now I am sending you” (John 20:21). We are called to be on Jesus’ mission of making disciples. We do this by representing Jesus well in our daily lives as salt and light people. We also do this by sharing the good news about what Jesus has done for us through his life, death, and resurrection, and by inviting others to place faith in Jesus. Mission is hard, but Jesus has given us the Holy Spirit to help us live as ambassadors for him.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
